If the POE monitoring network cable is not long enough, it can be extended by oneself, but the following points should be noted:
- Choose the appropriate network cable: Be sure to use at least Cat5e or higher specification (such as Cat6) network cables to ensure that data and power transmission can be supported normally.
- Correct wiring: Use RJ45 crystal heads and network cable crimping tools to connect the network cables in the correct order (T568A or T568B). The connector should be firm to avoid poor contact that may cause signal loss or insufficient power supply.
- Length limit: The total length of POE Ethernet cables should generally not exceed 100 meters. If exceeded, power and data may be affected, and it is recommended to use POE repeaters or extenders to enhance the signal.
Avoid interference: When wiring, avoid placing the network cable near strong power lines or other sources of interference to reduce signal interference.
If you need Ethernet cables, you can customize them at PKT factory and choose high-quality cables that meet the standards to ensure the stable operation of the monitoring system. If you are not familiar with wiring yourself, you can consider seeking professional help.
